A bit about me…
A very long time ago, in another life, I was a singer, on the road with various bands and groups for a few years. I did a lot of session work and sang and played guitar many long nights in very smoky clubs, wine bars and restaurants. I was also writing songs during that time. Most stayed at the demo stage, but a few were covered by a couple of other singers.
Those heavy nights of singing in very busy, smoky venues damaged my vocal chords and stopped me singing for a living. However, the bills had to be paid so I tried my hand at customer services, PR and marketing.
I didn’t sing or write for 35 years or more, physically and mentally cutting myself off from the music industry as I think it was the only way I could cope with the reality of my situation.
Then, one day a couple of years ago, I picked up my very old, very battered, but very much loved guitar and started to play a little. My voice sounded very different and of course had dropped in pitch and tone. I wrote a couple of songs... then a couple more... and I seem to have got back the old writing bug!
