Songs For Now

Don't Look Away [single]
£2.00

How it all started: I was listening to a spokesman for a children’s charity being interviewed by a presenter on the radio. She asked him what message he would send to people when they see the terrible images and film footage of hungry and suffering children around the world. He replied “Don’t Look Away”.

I couldn’t get those words out of my head. It is so easy to just do that; look the other way and get on with our comfortable lives…and anyway, we all think we’ve got enough problems of our own, don’t we? Soon afterwards I wrote the song, “Don’t Look Away” and recorded it in my home studio. Now, brilliant writer, musician and producer, Gareth Davies has made it sound pretty good, and members of CAST Youth Theatre have added their voices and their enthusiasm to the project. I hope you like it.

Proceeds from the sale of this single will go to Save The Children.

I’ll be adding more new songs in early 2026.

The Girl In The Green Jumper: A friend wrote a book about her turbulent marriage to an artist. I’ve tried to tell that fascinating story in a few verses of song.

Where Will You Go: A sad but optimistic goodbye written for a young friend on their final journey.

Cold White Wine: That old liquid emotional prop! It helps us float above the turmoil for a little while, but wears off quickly and plonks us right back where we were…but with a headache!

On my News page there is the story of how I came to write my latest song ‘DON’T LOOK AWAY’, due for release in early 2026.
